
The Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Adewole Soladoye, stated that the suspension became necessary, as the SUG had failed to obey the rules guiding its activities on campus.
In the violence, which started in the morning, students barricaded every entrance to the school in protest of the stabbing of their sport director, Tobi Oyeniyi, and injuring of another during a female sports competition tagged SUG Cup at the school’s spots pavilion.
“All students are to vacate their halls of residence immediately, to resume for studies on Wednesday April 10,” he said.
The registrar, Modupe Fawole, stated that the police had been invited to prevent breach of peace.
Oyo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, said the police were on top of the situation and that investigation was ongoing.
