MOSOP faults government’s UK trip on Ogoni cleanup

The Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has criticised the Federal Government’s trip to the United Kingdom to shop for best ways of handling the cleanup in the area, describing the exercise as a waste of resources and a ploy to “cover up stolen funds in Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP).”

Its president, Fegalo Nsuke, in a statement, said it was absurd and ridiculous to learn that the Minister of Environment, Suleiman Zarma, was leading a mission to the European nation to sample best practices on the yet-to-commence cleanup at the tail end of his tenure in office.
