Manchester United Frenchman, Paul Pogba, will leave the English Premier League club over fan criticism of him, the club’s former defender Patrice Evra said.

“I think [Pogba] will leave, because you need to feel the love when you play somewhere, you need to be committed,” Evra said.

“When there are incidents like [on Sunday] with the fan, they are killing Paul,” he added.

Pogba came under some heated abuse from supporters during Sunday’s humiliating defeat to Cardiff City on the final match of the 2018/19 season.

This is despite that the 26-year-old is the club’s record signing and being selected as one of the PFA Team of the Year.

Evra, who played with Pogba at United, Juventus and in the French national side, said Pogba and De Gea are the only Manchester United players that “can play in a big team in Europe.”

“If Paul decides to stay another year and then leave, or stay another few years, maybe the fans will love him because he is committed. The United fans love you when you say you are committed,” Evra added.

Pogba ended 2018-19 with 13 Premier League goals and a further nine assists – more than any of his United team-mates managed
