ICPC canvases strategies for quick recovery of looted funds, assets

Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) has called for adoption of strategies that would facilitate easy recovery of looted public assets and funds.

ICPC also sought for continued partnership and support of the general public in the fight against corruption, as it is an endemic that has eaten deep into all facets of the nation.

The commission made the call at the event commemorating the 2019 African Union Anti-corruption Day, in Imo State.

According to the commission’s Chairman, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, represented by the State Commissioner, Arua Udonsi, the strategies would help to improve the people’s socio-economic needs.

“Millions of Nigerians suffering denial of basic social services will receive succor, when stolen assets are recovered from looters,” he said.
