Government raises panel to recover N5 trillion owed AMCON

The Federal Government has raised a task force to recover the over N5 trillion owed the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo dropped the hint during a meeting with AMCON board members, management and selected heads of government agencies, at the State House, Abuja.

A statement yesterday by Osinbajo’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Laolu Akande, named the agencies to include the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC).

Also in attendance were the permanent secretaries of the justice and transport ministries.
