Tests for COVID-19 are being conducted on people who were identified as contacts to the seafarers who tested positive for the virus.

From the group of contacts, 6 Seychellois have preliminary positive results and retesting is being carried out for confirmation.

They are all well and showing no signs of illness. They are currently in isolation while their contacts are being followed up.

Sampling and testing of the seafarers on the vessels in quarantine has started and will continue throughout the week.

The Public Health Authority (PHA) will provide updates in future press releases.
