The Adamawa State governor, Senator Jibrilla Bindow would be conferred with the best performing Governor of the Year for his performance in infrastructural development and roads construction.

A statement by the Director of communications of the organizers of the award, Nigerian Topleaders International Magazine in Cotonou, Mrs. Mercy Ajayi, said the governor was adjudged the best performing Governor of the year base on assessment carried out in Yola, parts of the states and across the Federation by the Award Evaluation Committee.

The Director said that Bindow performances despite the on-going economic recession surpass other Governors in the area of roads construction and infrastructural development. She said apart from the Governor, other eminent and credible achievers would be honoured during the ceremony.

She contended that despite the lean resources of Adamawa State and low Federal monthly allocations, Bindow was prudent enough to manage the state resources by fulfilling his electoral promises to the people, in less than two years in office.

Ajayi stated that the event, which will hold next month (April) in Cotonou, would attract eminent personalities from Nigeria, Ghana, Republic of Benin, other African nations and United States.

The guest speaker is the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar who will speak on the topic titled: ‘Good governance, anti-corruption roadmap to African economic revolution and sustainable development’.

Ajayi stated that this year’s event is also meant to mark the 12 years anniversary of the magazine and 7th in the series of her organisation’s annual award which were previously held in Ghana, The Gambia, Nigeria and other Africa nations.
