Bauchi commissioner of budget resigns
The Bauchi State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Barau Ningi has resigned his appointment. In his resignation letter to the state governor, Abdullahi Mohammed Abubakar, the erstwhile Commissioner accused the governor of adopting hostile, aggressive and intimidating posture to scare all and sundry from offering good, frank, sincere and honest advice to his administration.
While tendering his disengagement letter from the State Executive Council of Bauchi state, he alleged that many issues were behind his resignation, which include unaccommodating, debilitating, and ignoring friendly advice from all the commissioners.
His words: “This is why so many things in the administration are wrong and going in the wrong direction.“It appears your Excellency prefers to listen to illiterate and sycophants. Your Excellency, this sycophancy is your creation. Everybody is now compelled to tell you what you want to hear. The Executive council is a mere rubber stamp ratifying anticipatory approvals only.”
He said good advisers are lacking in the administration, which has compelled the Governor to adopt a negative and frightening posture.”I am sure your Excellency cannot recall the number of times you shouted at me merely because I offered simple suggestion and piece of advise and embarrassment I received”, Ningi stated.
