Bello reads riot act to appointees

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has given three months to all the political appointees in the state to fine tune their strategies with positive results or be shown the way out.

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has given three months to all the political appointees in the state to fine tune their strategies with positive results or be shown the way out.The Governor, who gave the marching orders while announcing a minor cabinet reshuffle, lamented that some political appointees have failed with no significant value added to citizens through their offices.

He urged them to improve on their ratings or he would be forced to replace them with those who would keep pace with the aspirations of his administration.
“After about 18 months in office, all cabinet members must know where they stand in terms of productivity. This Administration requires excellence at all times. Mere good performance can never be good enough, and some have even fallen below that,” he said.

On the minor reshufflement, Mrs Rosemary Osikoya of the Kogi State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources was redeployed to the Kogi State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. She replaces Mr Jacob Tolorunleke.

Mr Jacob Tolorunleke was redeployed to the Kogi State Ministry of Commerce and Industry to replace Sanusi Yahaya.Sanusi Usman Yahaya was redeployed to the Ministry of Environment & Natural Resources to replace Mrs Rosemary Osikoya.

Mr Gabriel Arome Adoji is redeployed from the Kogi State Ministry of Youths and Sports to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to replace Mohammed Awwal.
Mohammed Awwal was redeployed from Culture and Tourism to the Ministry of Transport to replace Sani Ogu Salisu.

Sani Ogu Salisu moved from the Ministry of Transport to the Ministry of Youths and Sports to replace Mr Gabriel Arome Adoji.Meanwhile, a new Kogi State Lands and Housing Services Bureau headed by a Director-General has been created out of the current Kogi State Ministry of Works, Lands, and Housing and Urban Development with Mrs Ladi Ibrahim as the head.

The former Kogi State Ministry of Works, Lands, Housing and Urban Development has been renamed the Kogi State Ministry Of Works and Urban Development with Sadiq Abdulmumini retaining his position as the Commissioner.

The Governor disclosed that all changes would be effective from 1st January 2018, while deployed officials are expected to brief their replacements fully in writing and conduct formal handover on or before the close of work on the effective date.
