The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) has trained over 1,000 youths on vocational skills. The church said those trained comprised graduates and non-graduates, who were trained in various fields of human endeavours, as a means to lift them out of poverty.

It included how to prepare their Curriculum Vitae, show up in the marketplace, be effective in the marketplace and organise schedules, among others.

Speaking at the job seekers’ summit in Abuja, Head of Department, Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr. Nkem Ene, who represented the senior pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, said the training was mooted by the senior pastors to prepare young people for the marketplace.

He said: “We have thousands of applicants and the idea is to tap into the potential that they have. There is no reason why graduates, who are looking for opportunity, should not be given a chance to showcase their best.

“So what we have done is to provide a platform where these young people can come in, get their skills and interface with employers. And the purpose is to enable them to have opportunity to show what they can do,” he said.

“We have been having a wonderful time for the past six days. We’ve had so many employers coming for the job seekers.

“We have employers in the technology space, in schools, business development executives, NGOs, lawyers, doctors and pharmacists, among others.”
