ETIWA, a vocational training institute, has unveiled its training and CSR opportunity programmes in Lagos, as part of efforts to improve the Nigerian vocational industry as well as aid job creation and improved income.

Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB), Olawunmi Gasper, said with the right programmes and policies in place, workers can be more productive and empowered for better life.

Aligning his position with that of the state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, the LASTVEB boss said workers need to imbibe and develop new approaches that would enhance better service delivery.

With globalization and emerging business challenges, Gasper said the time has come to rise to the occasion by developing new approaches that will enhance better service delivery.

Some of the key issues highlighted by the speakers include the importance and value of re-skilling to economies, taking a cue from the Irish example, the need for collaboration and partnerships among training institutions, private sector and government to address challenges of vocational education, among others.
