Foundation empowers young girls on leadership, vocational skills
Hope Inspired Foundation has empowered young girls with leadership and vocational skills.
At a one-day workshop, held in Lagos, with the theme ‘The 360 Degree Leaders’, founder, Hope Inspired Foundation, Ejiro Okotie, said the empowerment is targeted at the girl-child, women and those with disabilities, through advocacy, care and empowerment to help them contribute their quota to nation building.
Okotie, who spoke on ‘My sexuality’, said most young people and persons with disabilities received little or no formal sexual education, either in school or at home.
She gave them sexuality education books and the braille version, printed by the foundation, to provide them with comprehensive sexual health education.
President, Speaking Fingers Network, Treasures Uchegbu, who spoke on ‘Mental Health and Mental Wellbeing in Today’s World’, urged the participants to be abreast with issues happening in the country.
Uchegbu urged the participants using the 3-2-1 methods to guard their minds and mental health appropriately through the way they feel, think and act.
With the challenging issues of trafficking and the Japa syndrome, Founder, Abigail Foundation, Abigail Etatuvie, advised the ladies to look out for red flags, talk to trusted and reliable persons before embarking on any foreign trip.
