An advocacy group, Progress Mandate, has lauded Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, for his strides in youth empowerment.
The group also recognised the revolutionising governance in the state through policies that target development, growth and peace.
Specifically, the group said the governor’s interventions in the youth digital skills initiative would start yielding fruit even long after the governor’s tenure.
According to the Director-General of the group, ‘Yomi Oso, Oyebanji’s accomplishments in youth engagement and empowerment could not be overemphasised.
He said that through targeted programmes like the ‘Youth Digital Skills Initiative’, the administration has empowered thousands with skills to thrive in the 21st-century economy.
On civil service reform, Oso said a new era of dignity, meritocracy, and motivation was unfolding in the civil service, thereby restoring pride to the engine room of governance.
Among other reforms and leadership strides that engender inclusive administration, the group endorsed Oyebanji for another term in office.
According to him, the turnaround in basic education, investment in school infrastructure, teachers’ recruitment, and innovation in curriculum delivery created a pipeline of future leaders.
“Our support for Governor Oyebanji is informed by his humility in leadership, approachability and consistency. His inclusive governance style gives voice to all segments of society: youth, women, elders, traditional institutions, and professional bodies. In these qualities, we find a rare patriot whose style may be quiet but whose impact roars across every corner of Ekiti,” he said.
