The project is a pilot scheme of the community development roadmap designed by the group, in support of the new administration. According to a statement signed by the National Project Coordinator, Kenneth Ibe-Kalu, the scheme will be officially unveiled by APC leaders, on the 11th July, while implementation is expected to follow immediately.

He noted that the Mass Movement for Buhari Community Empowerment Project (MMB-CEP) would midwife the process of rebuilding Nigeria, through ethics and value development and community service.

“It is a known fact that our value system as a people has been corroded by many decades of corrupt lifestyle adopted by our leaders and followers alike, this has brought about retrogression in growth as a nation and shamefully, had reduced our self-worth in the comity of nations.

We have decided to compliment the incoming regime by establishing ethics and value clinics in each community under the MMB-CEP,” he stated.

Besides he explained that the MMB-CEP would focus attention on critical aspects of national development, such as health care delivery, schools development, skills acquisition and agricultural development.

According to the statement, provision of health care delivery service to rural communities had remained a serious challenge to the nation, the group thereby planned to assuage pains of rural dwellers through its health care facility for rural community initiative.

He also highlighted the need to assist government to deliver a sound basic education in rural communities across the federation.

“There is an urgent need to compliment governments efforts in achieving basic education for all, especially in the rural communities, as a pilot scheme, we intend to commence building of additional structures in schools, purchase of books and teaching boards.”

“In some communities, we saw pupils being thought under the trees by voluntary teachers, there is an urgent need to compliment the works of these voluntary teachers,” he added. Ibe-kalu stated further that there was need to expose every Nigerian child to acquire vocational skills alongside primary and secondary school education.

This, according to him would expose young Nigerians to self-employment and in turns reduce the future rate of unemployment in the country.
