The Provost, the Corporate Institute of Strategic Research, (CISR), Prof Mohammed Bangura has called for strategic research to tackle the challenge of good leadership in Nigeria.
He made the call at a three-day convention for the induction and investiture of new members of the institute as well as the inauguration of the CISR recently in Abuja.
He insisted that the greatest challenge all over the world is leadership, saying unless nations get the right leaders at the helm of affairs, national growth and development would continue to elude many.

Represented by the register of the institute, Dr Victoria Okon, he said strategic research remains the only way to efficiency in leadership because such research breeds new findings that drive innovation, success, and mitigation of risks.
“Strategic research has never been more critical in shaping the future of organizations and societies alike. The theme of this year’s convention, ‘Global Strategic Research: A Novel Catalyst in Leadership’ is particularly poignant as we navigate an era characterized by rapid technological advancements, geopolitical shifts, and evolving economic landscapes.”
Chairman of the event, Dr Ahmed Ikaka, pointed out that leadership can make or mar a people as the bulk of everyone’s problem ends at the table of the leader.
Speaking on the importance of leadership training, the second Vice Chairman of the newly inaugurated CISR Nigeria board of advisors, Dr Olufemi Akinwusire, explained: “The CISR is phenomenal especially in a generation like this, in a time like this because strategic research is where the whole world is going.”
Earlier in a paper presentation, the Chair of the CISR Council of Fellows, Dr James Etim, said good leadership drives followership and a good leader is always a good mentor.
