As part of measures to build a viable and conducive environment for the nation’s engineering profession, Nigerian Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, (NIEEE) has concluded plans to create more chapters across the country.

At the inauguration ceremony of her 17th chapter held in Nsukka, the Chairman of the Institute, Gracious Omatseye, an engineer, said there is need for engineers to take full advantage of present economy situation by proffering solutions to the diverse needs of the nation.

According to him, engineers are solution providers, who can be used strategize and help diversify the nation’s economy following the current administration to solve the Nigeria’s myriad.

Omatseye said that, the NIEEE has been working tremendously to achieve the institute’s objectives by creating more chapters of the institution in all states of the federation.

The guest lecturer at the occasion, Prof Emenike C. Ejiogu in a paper presentation titled; ‘’The Role of Hybrid Photovoltaic System in power generation in Nigeria’’called on the government to consider energy mix as a policy in her effort to have sustainable and improved power supply.
