The Institute of Entrepreneurial Excellence Innovation and Sustainability (IEEIS) in collaboration with Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative (ELI) United States, has called on the education sector to integrate entrepreneurship mindset into their curriculum to equip young generation with necessary skills to face the 21st century tasks.

The institute stated that the entrepreneurial mindset programme is designed to inspire and engage participants in the fundamental aspects of entrepreneurial thinking, while immersing them in the process that will enable them develop entrepreneurial skills.

President of IEEIS, Mrs. Ngozi Ogoke, said the institute and ELI have teamed up to provide professional development training for educators and impactful entrepreneurial mindset programs for their students.

She said goal by training both educators and students with the mindset is to create an environment where young people see opportunity to create positive change in the Nigerian society.

According to her, young Nigerians have to embrace the entrepreneurial mindset to enable them solve problem for humanity by identifying opportunity, which subsequently lead to sustainable entrepreneurship and have positive effect on the Nigeria economy and Africa as a whole.

She added that the training would also provide a strong method for them to create and move toward goals that they have for themselves.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer, ELI, Gary Schoeniger, who spoke on the theme, ‘The Entrepreneurial Mindset, Transforming Nigeria’s Economic Ecosystem’, said the world has changed in ways that required everyone to think like an entrepreneur.

He noted that the mindset that once enabled people to thrive was rapidly becoming obsolete.

He said an entrepreneurial activity was essential for creating a vibrant, equitable and sustainable community.

Schoeniger added that the problem of thinking entrepreneurship as a phenomenon was because most people overlook the untapped potential in ordinary people.

President, ELI, Rob Herndon, at the event, gave an insight into the ELI also known as the Ice House programmes using the Opportunity Discovery Canvas.
