The Association of Automobile, Boatyards, Transport Equipment and Allied Employers of Nigeria (AABTEAEN) has elected the Deputy Managing Director of Compagnie Française de l’Afrique Occidentale Motors Nigeria (CFAO Group), Kunle Jaiyesimi, as the new president.

Jaiyesimi replaces the former helmsman, the Managing Director of R.T. Briscoe Nigeria, Seyi Onajide, at the association’s 42nd yearly general meeting.

Jaiyesimi is expected to steer the ship of the group for the next one year. Also elected is the R.T. Briscoe Nigeria’s Dr. Femi Eguaikhide as AABTEAEN’s vice president, while Honda Manufacturing (Nigeria) Limited representative, Mrs. Morenike Ogunowo, returned unopposed for another term as the group’s treasurer.

The Chairman of the Human Resource Experts, Mrs. Rose Osuinde of Mandilas Enterprises Limited, remains an automatic member of the executive committee.

Anjorin and Anjorin Company retains its position as the association’s auditor. Giving his acceptance speech, Jaiyesimi thanked the association’s members for the confidence reposed in the new executive, promising to reunite everyone, as the new executive members cannot do it alone without the cooperation of members.

“We will continue to rely on the wealth of experience of our outgoing president, whom I have worked with as a vice. I can tell you that he hasd been of great benefit to the association. I want to thank him for his leadership, and for the current esteemed position he brought this association to.

“Our first task would be to pay a courtesy visit to some members to know the reason for their lukewarm attitude towards the association’s meetings. And I also think the new executive has a lot on ground to cover to move the association further with the cooperation of everyone,” he stated.
