Kwara State police command cautions against online recruitment fraudsters

THE Kwara state command of the Nigeria Police has warned members of the public to beware of online fraudsters who may take advantage of presidential directive to recruit 10,000 police officers to defraud them.

A statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi, ASP, and made available to journalists in Ilorin said the recruitment of 10,000 police officers had not commenced.

The statement reads: “The Kwara state police command wishes to inform the general public that following the approval for the recruitment of 10,000 police officers by President Muhammadu Buhari, the recruitment is yet to commence, as modalities for the recruitment are being worked out.

“The public are hereby warned to beware of online fraudsters who may take advantage of the recruitment information to defraud them of their hard earned money and also to disregard any invitation for screening exercise at any stadium, schools and other open spaces as such invitations are spurious.

“The command will adequately advertise on all media platforms when the recruitment commences”.
