LASACO gets executive directors

THE board of directors of Lasaco Assurance Plc has announced the elevation of Abiodun Dosunmu to the post of an executive director.

He holds first degree in Insurance and Masters Degree in Marketing, all from University of Lagos. . Dosunmu cut his teeth in insurance having joined Lasaco Assurance as an Insurance Off icer in 1991 and has continued in practice with the leading insurance company since then.

A statement explained that Dosunmu has held various strategic positions in Lasaco Assurance both in Lagos and Abuja. “He has been Head, Reinsurance, Branch Manager, Senior Manager and Controller between 1995 and 2006.

He became the assistant general manager in charge of marketing and business development in 2008. 2010 saw him rise to the post of deputy general manager in charge of plans and programmes.

Still as the DGM, he got additional responsibility of overseeing business services and risk management function in 2010” .

Speaking on his elevation, the Group Managing Director of LASACO Assurance Plc, Olusola Ladipo-Ajayi, explained that Dosunmu has the requisite skills in insurance operations and a system man as far as Lasaco Assurance business model and structure is concerned.

He stated “his duty tour which has taken him round different operational units of the company has fully prepared him for his new assignment.

Taking his educational and professional backgrounds into account, his elevation is well deserved. He is indeed a round peg in a round hole. I do believe that his competence, versatility, skills and dexterity will impact positively on Lasaco Assurance”.

Dosunmu became an associate of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria in 1995 and a fellow in 2008. He is also a Law graduate of University of Lagos, where he bagged LLB (Hons) Degree in 2006 and was called to Nigerian Bar in 2007.
