NAAPE, Airtech establish central database for local aviation

The National Association of Airline Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) and Airtech Aviationupport Services have opened a central database for the local industry.
 
The database, christened AvianQDB, is the first of its kind and would serve as a single resource point for available manpower and general information about Nigerian aviation.
 
Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Airtech Aviation Support Services, Bukola Nzegwu, said the platform provides industry professionals an opportunity to register profiles, upload certificates and licenses to be visible to prospective employers.

 
The platform will also serve as a depository of relevant local and international aviation information through feeds and links to aviation agencies,” he said.

Nzegwu, however, said the database would start with available manpower among pilots and engineers, adding that work was ongoing to add other skills.
  
President of NAAPE, Abednego Galadima, said the AvianQDB would serve as a one-stop shop for aviation manpower solutions.Galadima noted that the development was in line with the association’s mandate to promote and protect the welfare and well-being of members.
 
He encouraged aviation stakeholders, especially pilots and engineers, to patronise the platform. He assured that the application would provide tremendous benefits for both employers and employees, stressing that it would also serve as a good guide for policy and decision-makers.
 
Abednego, however, commended Nzegwu for partnering with NAAPE to develop the application, which he described as “a great contribution to the development of the aviation industry.” Airtech Aviation Support Services is an approved Line Maintenance Organisation, with line stations in Lagos, Abuja and Accra.
