Productivity Centre gets new Director- General

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Kashim Yunusa Akor as the new Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Productivity Centre (NPC).

The Centre is one of the parastatals of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity.

A statement by the Deputy Director (Press) in the ministry, Samuel Olowookere said Akor’s appointment was contained in a letter signed by the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, in Abuja.

The letter read in part: “I am pleased to convey the approval of His Excellency, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, President Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Ref. No. PRES/94/ML/103 dated 18th May, 2015 of your appointment as the new Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, with effect from 19th May, 2015, for a first tenure of four (4) years.”

The appointment is consequent upon the completion of the second and final tenure of the erstwhile Director –General. Dr. Paul. M. Bdliya

Akor who holds a Master Degree in Public Administration and a Certificate in Productivity Management from Spring Institute, Singapore among other professional certificates was a Director in the Centre with over twenty years experience as a Productivity Practitioner.
