Rotary Club of Ojodu has unveiled Oliver Edward Okon as 18th president to pilot the affairs of the club for the next one year.
  
Okon’s priorities as the president revolves around maternal and child health, girl child education, community development and cervical cancer projects among others. 
     
He is a Director, DARA Foundation- a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that is focused on improving the life of women and children; the Past President Hope Waddell Old Students Association, Lagos Branch and the Immediate Past Secretary, Rotary club of Ojodu.
     


Okon is a Paul Harris fellow and a Principal Manager, FMCG, Corporate Banking Group of Union Bank of Nigeria, with over 20 years post-qualification experience as a banker and financial consultant, having provided various financial advisory services to local and international companies in Nigeria and other countries in Africa. 
     
He is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Banker, member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and Member of the Chartered Institute of Cost Management of Nigeria.

He has attended various local and international training organised by Price Water Coopers (PWC), International Monetary Fund, Lagos Business School, CitiBank (United States of America) and Deutsche Bank (Germany). 
Okon attended the PCN Primary School, Obom Itiat, and thereafter proceeded to Hope Waddell Training Institution, Calabar, where he finished before proceeding to the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State to study Banking and Finance.
