The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Hong Xing steel company, Andy Lu, has assured workers of the company of a well improved welfare and safety in the organisation.

Despite the country’s current challenges, it has the in-built resilience, not only to survive but also to come out stronger.

Lu, who was represented by Feng Zhengke said this in an address he presented at the company’s 2015 end of year party that took place in Lagos.

According to him, through the “commitment, support and loyalty of the staff, Hongxing which was established only eight years ago, has become a leading steel company, not only in Nigeria, but also in West Africa”.

He added that, by the time the company’s new factory located in Abia State comes on stream in the second quarter of this year, Hongxing would become the largest steel company in the whole of West Africa.

“You must realize that our basic raw materials are scraps that litter all over the place, which we now gather, process, and turn into useful building materials and other important life needs,” he said.

In future, he said, the company’s interests would extend to mining of solid minerals to be able to provide their raw materials.

On the significance of the staff party, he observed that it is one of the company’s usual ways of creating bond among the staff and management of the company.

According to him, every month, the company organizes birthday celebration for both her Nigerian and Chinese staff whose dates of birth fall within that particular month; they also hold quarterly interdepartmental sports competition.
Speaking further, he said to demonstrate the company’s commitment to Nigeria and her people, it recently filled its top management positions with Nigerian employees, pointing out that deserving staff would continue to have a bright future in the organization.

“We are linking and connecting the bridge between China and Nigeria. As a big family, every one of us contributes to the common goal of the family.

Lu said he has faith in the future of Nigeria, adding that the country has the potential to become a leading world economy in the next few years.

He paid glowing tribute to families of the staff of the company, saying “please allow me to pay my deepest respect and appreciation to every family member of yours, thank you for your support and understanding. Xongxing would not have been able to come this far without your support and understanding.”
