TGI Group wins LaPRIGA Awards

Call it a resplendent colourful gathering and you would be right, as strategic integrated marketing communications industry stakeholders from corporate, private, and public sectors graced the ninth edition of Lagos PR Industry Gala & Awards (LaPRIGA) where the TGI Group once again demonstrated its sector dominance by emerging winners of double awards for the year 2024.

Call it a resplendent colourful gathering and you would be right, as strategic integrated marketing communications industry stakeholders from corporate, private, and public sectors graced the ninth edition of Lagos PR Industry Gala & Awards (LaPRIGA) where the TGI Group once again demonstrated its sector dominance by emerging winners of double awards for the year 2024.

Themed: ‘The Shining Stars’ the LaPRIGA Award 2024 ceremony, which was held recently at MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos was organised by the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

TGI Group graced the podium twice as the deserving winners of two awards – Best Supporter of Public Relations (PR), while its Head, Corporate Communications, Rafiat Gawat, clinched the ‘Public Relations Shining Star of the Year,’ the award category, which had the highest entry of 11 nominees, for her distinctive enterprise, professionalism and enviable industry rising profile.

The group was also one of the top three nominees for the PR Professional of the year category, an award recognising PR practitioners who have shown remarkable performance and contributed to the development of the industry. TGI Group was also a top three nominee for the Sustainability PR category.

The ceremony had 22 award categories, and 81 entries were submitted in 21 categories, with the ‘Best in Political Communication’ not having any submission for this edition. Others are ‘Special Honorary Awards’ and ‘Lifetime Achievements Award for select public relations industry veterans.

Gawat commended the organisers, whilst urging all awards nominees to sustain the standard of excellence. “I want to thank the Lagos NIPR for organising the LaPRIGA Awards and recognising TGI Group and other winners. These awards highlight the importance of celebrating excellence in our industry.”

Speaking also, the awards organiser and Chairman of NIPR Lagos Chapter, Comfort Obot Nwankwo, congratulated all the winners for their recognition as shining stars and urged them to be an inspiration to others while sustaining the momentum of success, character, and bravery.
