The salary payroll upgrade of Yobe workers through the Nigeria Uniform Bank Account Number (NUBAN) is responsible for the delay of payments of salaries and pensions for January.

The salary payroll upgrade of Yobe workers through the Nigeria Uniform Bank Account Number (NUBAN) is responsible for the delay of payments of salaries and pensions for January.

Serving and retired workers with Yobe and Gashua Microfinance Banks and Bank of Agriculture (BoA) may not collect their salaries and pensions early.

The Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Abacha Geidam, in a statement in Damaturu, disclosed that efforts to pay January salaries and pension had proved abortive.

According to him, workers and pensioners without NUBAN will not collect their January salaries and pensions.

“Due to the current payroll upgrade, all efforts of the Ministry of Finance to pay January 2019 salaries and pension allowances to serving and retired public officers without NUBAN, particularly those banking with Microfinance banks and Bank of Agriculture, proved abortive.

“All serving and retired public officers concerned are advised to obtain and submit their NUBAN operative on-line to the Ministry of Finance for payment of their January 2019 salaries or pension allowances.

“Other serving and retired public officers, who might not have received their January 2019 salaries or pension allowances by Tuesday 29th January 2019 are advised to contact the Ministry of Finance for reconciliation.”
