Dunsin Oyekan, Beejay Sax, others slated for Unusual Praise 2024

Gospel Artists such as Dunsin Oyekan, Chioma Jesus, Jude Nnam, Beejay Sax, Mr M & Revelation, Dare Justified, Joe Praise and Alaseyori would be performing at the Unusual Praise 2024.

Other ministers include the greatest composer of Catholic Choral songs in Nigeria, Jude Nnam; Ada Jesus; Blessed Modesta and Queen.

Speaking at the press briefing, Parish Priest, Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Lekki, Monsignor Pascal Nwaezeakpu, said that the event, which would be held on December 13, at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos themed, Let the People Praise Thee o God, organised by Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Lekki.

He said the event is organised for people to come together and thank God for His blessings on their lives, evangelise to people in need of salvation, reach out to youths and promote unity.

Responding to the disposition of people who are of the opinion that the hardship has made them unable to praise God, he said that the reason people share this opinion is because they haven’t learnt to count their blessings.

“In truth, there is nothing God can do for you now that can surpass what he has already done. Christ can’t die twice and apart from the gift of this new life in Christ, the greatest gift we have is life.

“Have to dig deep into your life and bring reason to praise God. Also remind your self that God who did not things for you before is more than able to do new things. As bad as things are, there are people getting blessed daily,” he said.

Chairperson, Unusual Praise 2024, Theresa Onwuka, said Unusual Praise 2024 is majorly about evangelisation, adding that last year they had 800 people give their life to christ, who are currently being mentored.

She emphasised that the event is free with ample security available. The program starts with Confession at 5pm and ends with Mass at about 5:30am. There is also free transportation to and fro the venue across various Lagos locations.

According to her, one of the objectives of Unusual Praise is to provide funding, business training and mentorship for entrepreneurs in Nigeria through it’s Unusual Entrepreneurship program, which is set to provide its seventh round of funding for entrepreneurs, with up to a hundred (100) entrepreneurs being funded on the 13th of December, at the Tafawa Balewa Square and the 8th of November at the Basilica of The Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha.
