Notable Nollywood producer and director, Emem Isong-Misodi, is set to release her latest movie, Ayamma across cinemas in the country come December 23.

However, at the exclusive screening of the movie held at Silverbird Galleria, last weekend, Majid Mitchel, Adesua Etomi, Wale Ojo, Emem Isong, Jonathan Ben-Bruce, Theresa Edem, Bank of Industry officials, media and a host of select few were in attendance.

Distributed by Silverbird Distribution, Ayamma is a cultural epic movie, whose storyline is told with heavy musical thrust. The movie has separate recorded music and has Adesua, the lead act playing double role and as well showing off her well choreographed dance steps.

Ayamma is the story of Prince Daraima, the charming heir to Obong Ikpaisong, who repeatedly dreams of Ihuoma, a poor maiden whose beauty is matched only by her voice. In Daraima’s dreams, flowers blossoms and birds gather each time Ihuoma sings. The prince falls is in love with the girl of his dreams. In the real world, Prince Daraima is married to Princess Ama, the Arrogant child of a monarch for a neighbouring town. During a dance presentation to welcome Princess Ama to the kingdom, Daraima is shocked to see that one of the dancing maidens is Ihuoma –– a girl who hitherto exists only in his dreams.

Unbeknown to him, the dancer is Iko, a poor maiden in the village who’s the replica of Ihuoma and strangely possessing the same singing genius. Ama observes her groom-to-be is captivated by Iko and resolves to nip this obvious threat in the bud.

Speaking on the movie, Emem Isong, said, “Ayamma is an entertaining epic story told with contemporary skills. This is like bringing the old Nollywood back, but this time around an improved version.”
