Recently, there was a retrospective exhibition, which showcased a curated selection of some of Nsikak Essien’s most iconic works, highlighting the artistic innovation and cultural impact that defined his illustrious career. Nsikak Essien pioneered sculptural mixed-media painting, and this exhibition successfully introduced his vision to a new generation of art enthusiasts.
Titled, The Infinity Project: A Retrospective Exhibition in Honour of Nsikak Essien, it was curated by Mmenim Essien and Patrick Odimnfe.
On display were Nsikak’s masterpieces, including never-before-seen works featuring his unique sculptural mixed media painting style, which blends regular painting and the use of found materials.
The event, which was hosted by Paul Usoro and Co. at PUC Tower, Danmole Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, also marked the official launch of the Nsikak Essien Foundation for Creative Arts, celebrating the extraordinary legacy of one of the most influential figures on the continent.

An exclusive event brought together art collectors, critics, and enthusiasts to celebrate the exhibition’s launch. “We are thrilled to have presented this retrospective exhibition, which paid tribute to Nsikak Essien’s exceptional contributions to the art world while inspiring future generations,” said Essien.
“This exhibition served as a testament to my father’s enduring legacy and his ability to transcend time through his art.”
