To keep people motivated despite the challenging times, Olufisayo Odebode has authored a book, Own Your Stuff. The book, which focuses on her life experiences, is aimed at inspiring and encouraging others.
According to her, the book is about ownership of life and self-leadership. “I wrote the book, because, at certain point in my life, I experienced things that made me almost lose it.” She continued: “At some point, I had serious health challenge, so, I wrote the book, because I now understand that you don’t determine what life throws at you.”
She said: “You have opportunity to respond in a way, which can leverage experiences to impact lives. The book was written to encourage everybody.”
She added that the book is about the power of God and what He can do to transform lives irrespective of “wherever we are.”
Odebode said the book is a testament that “He can meets us wherever we are.” Odebode is hopeful that anyone who uses tips and guidelines from the book will be able to navigate through life. She also encouraged those passing through difficult times not to relent but keep pushing.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. That’s what life is. You don’t determine what life throws at you. Things will always happen, situations beyond control will always happen. You will never always be able to control what happens around your life. And so, you’ve got to be patient, you got to persevere, find the things that inspire you so that you can be hopeful towards a better tomorrow,” she said.
A worship pastor at Bethel Temple Church in Jacksonville, Florida, Desirae Casas said: “Everyone in your life can soar, the sky is big enough for as many birds as there are or will ever be to fly. Failures and setbacks are natural on your journey to success. So, I will advise you: don’t go about with the idea that someone else is always the cause of your failures when failures are only natural. No successful person ever made it without several events of failure. There are factors that could be responsible for tragedies, failures and setbacks in life which should be validated because they are people’s experiences that are part of their stories and what makes them who they are today.”
