The Chief Executive Officer of Abazee Productions, Abayomi Olukanmi, and lead actress of epic film Labake Olododo, and Alaba Ultimate, Iyabo Ojo, were in Ibadan, Oyo State to promote the most anticipated Nollywood film of the year so far. The visit was special because the film was shot in Ibadan.
Labake Olododo is a pre-colonial Yoruba epic with English subtitles mixing comedy, drama, romance with themes of loyalty, power struggles, and leadership. It boasts a who’s who cast of Nollywood: Afeez Owo, Femi Adebayo, Ibrahim Chatta, Fathia Balogun, Olumide Oworu, Tayo Faniran and directed by award-winning director Biodun Stephen.
Speaking about their mission on coming to the city, Iyabo Ojo said, “Tayo Faniran and Olumide Oworu, will be available at the cinemas here in Ibadan for a meet-and-greet with fans, alongside myself, Abazee and Alaba. We shot the film here so it’s a special place for us.” Abayomi Olukanmi added, “I’m from Ibadan so this is also a homecoming for me, and I’m happy that we got to show a part of Nigeria that people don’t usually see on the big screen.”
Labake Olododo is in cinemas nationwide from Friday, March 28, 2025.
