The musical album launch I’ve got Joy by Olanike Yusuf took place at RCCG Antioch Assembly, Ayetoro, Aguda, Lagos. It is Yusuf’s debut and consists of eight tracks compiled between 2000 and 2014.

The first track, the album title, explains how the joy of the lord is always the strength of believers. Other tracks in the album include ‘Brace up,’ which is a song of encouragement for the broken-hearted while the third track ‘I can make it,’ is a call prayer to God to fulfil His purpose in our lives. Other tracks include ‘Let it rain’, ‘My sweet mother,’ the sixth track is in Yoruba, ‘Ope la nje re,’ a praise song laced with praise chants in Yoruba. The seventh track is titled ‘Ololufemi’ and specially dedicated to her husband, Olufela Yusuf, with final track being a song of worship and adoration to the highest God, titled ‘I Worship You.’

Yusuf’s music is eclectic with a mixture of spiritual, groovy, and soul laced with hip-hop, R&B, hi-praise, soft rock, funk, bossa nova, reggae, native blues and highlife.

The red carpet had two guest performers El-Woma and Tope Odu entertaining dignities from all walks of life. Chairman and the chief launcher were Mr. Chris Biyibi, host pastor and his wife, Pastor and Deacon Gloria Jowata-Paul, Deaconess Bukky Popoola, parents of Olanike and Olufela, Mrs. Abiola Yusuf, Minister Olaniyi Gbolahan, CEO, Mavin School of Interior Designs and many others.

The Mass Communication graduate of Delta State University also has a Masters degree in Industrial & Labour Relations, University of Lagos, Akoka. A Chartered member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, she represented Nigeria at Mnet/Endemol’s first Survivor Africa Reality Show, which took place in South Africa and Panama. She came third amongst 12 participants from other African countries.

The gospel musician, songwriter/composer, fashion designer, teacher and training facilitator was formally a member of a music band The Minstrels. She has also been in the choir from an early age and was Head, Department of The Voice of Glory Choir for several years. She belongs to other choir groups including The Youth Aflame Choir, Divine Singers, Higher Dimension Choir. She is a member of The Treasure of David Choir of RCCG, Antioch Assembly, Lagos.
