The Marathon Messiah’s Praise inaugurated by the youths of Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) to honour the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, will take place from Monday, February 26 and end March 1.

According to the Music Director, Pastor Kunle Ajayi, “The event began from year 2012 when God handed down the vision unto us to honour Adeboye on his birthday. It has continued every year since then, thrilling the world while setting new records year-in-year-out.”

The theme this year is ‘The Great Redeemer’ with the Church dedicating an overwhelming 76 out of the 8760 hours to praise God for His mercies over the General Overseer’s life. It would also usher in a new pattern of worship that would redefine the perspective of men to worship and praise in this dispensation.

Countries that will be participating this year include Nigeria, United States of America, Canada, England, Australia, Spain, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, Cameroon, Kenya, Netherlands, Sweden, Malaysia, South Africa, and Ireland.

Ajayi explained the significance thus, “This is a giant step in our quest to bring Marathon Messiah’s Praise to the doorsteps of every living being on the planet. As we are adding more countries this year, a new touch is accompanying our mode of operation. To the glory of God, we will be having two separate stages this year for Nigeria and the Diaspora.

“In Nigeria, the stage will be at the Youth Centre, Redemption Camp, Nigeria, while the Diaspora will have 15 stages spread across the 15 participating countries outside Nigeria. The stage in Nigeria will host the 76 Hours of Praise and Worship non-stop while the stages in the Diaspora nations will share the 76 hours among themselves and it will hold concurrently. This implies that there won’t be any stoppage on the Nigerian stage for 76 hours non-stop.”

About 150 worship ministers and choral groups will be ministering across the 16 participating Ccountries. According to the organisers, over 4,000 people have registered to volunteer in various departments, including Music, Sanitation, Welfare, Medical and in various key sections of the programme across the participating countries. Over 100,000 live participants are expected to be in attendance with over 10 million viewers expected to watch the event on TV and social media channels.

Ajayi also stated that accommodation and welfare will be made available to all the volunteers while the security of lives and properties for all the participants are guaranteed by the help of the Great Redeemer. He said buses will also be made available to ease transportation within Redemption Camp.Details can be found at www.mmpraise.org.

Ajayi also said that there would be two streams of broadcast for this year’s programme, noting, “One stream will fully cover Nigeria while the other stream will be a mix of Nigeria and the Diaspora. To achieve a seamless live broadcast, we have secured a dedicated event channel on Kwese TV, while a DSTV channel, Dove TV will also be broadcasting. Dove TV will broadcast the mix of Diaspora and Nigeria stream, while Kwese TV will broadcast the Nigerian stream. In addition, other Nigerian TV channels will also broadcast the Nigerian stream. Our online audience can follow us live on our various social media channels.”
