Stella’s Place On Stage Today
Regular monthly theatre production in Ajao Estate, Isolo, Lagos, is becoming a staple fare for its residence, with The Patters’ Heritage blazing the trail using the stage as evangelising medium. Last month, it was Romancing the Night, with Siloam featuring as dance. This October, it is Stella’s Place, billed to be staged on October 18 at BlueNest Hotel, Osolo Way, Ajao, off Airport Road, Isolo.
A statement from the playwright and producer of Stella’s Place, Pastor Ben Chiadika said, “’Something in Stella died when her father left her to “dance alone’. Growing up with a broken-hearted mother, she learns to ‘be a man’ in a man’s world. She becomes one with the boys, yet alone to herself, wanting to be in charge and refusing to be left alone on the dance floor again.
“She builds her wall, with a bright smile and a ‘friendship’ with men; while running from her personal fears, she engages with life at a platonic level, until her heart hears the song again and opts to dance. Stella is a story of one woman and the men we all love, the men who must catch us before we fal.”
Written by Ben Chiadika, the play will be directed by Mr. Patrick Ugele.
