… Clears envoys for foreign missions
The Federal Government has presented Letters of Credence to four newly appointed Nigerian ambassadors and high commissioners, clearing them to assume diplomatic duties in Trinidad and Tobago, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea and Egypt. The presentation ceremony marks the final diplomatic requirement before the envoys officially take up their assignments in their respective host countries.
With the issuance of the Letters of Credence, the diplomats are now authorised to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The newly appointed envoys are expected to strengthen Nigeria’s bilateral relations with their host countries by promoting cooperation in trade, investment, security, education, cultural exchange and regional integration.
Their deployment comes as Nigeria intensifies its economic diplomacy and seeks to attract greater foreign investment while expanding strategic partnerships across Africa and the Caribbean.
The ambassadors and high commissioners will also be responsible for promoting Nigeria’s national interests, protecting the welfare of Nigerian citizens in their countries of posting and enhancing government-to-government relations.
Following the presentation of the Letters of Credence, the diplomats are expected to proceed to their respective countries of assignment, where they will formally present their credentials to the heads of state of their host nations before commencing official duties.
