Gunmen attack Kebbi school, kill vice principal, abduct female students

A government boarding school in Maga town, Kebbi State, was attacked by gunmen early on Monday, resulting in the death of the Vice Principal and the abduction of an unspecified number of female students.

According to a security report and a school official, the assailants, armed with rifles, stormed the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga around 1 a.m. local time, employing coordinated tactics.

The Guardian gathered that the Vice Principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku, was shot dead while attempting to resist the attackers. A security guard also sustained injuries during the raid.

The teacher reported that the gunmen fled the scene with the abducted students, heading towards the neighbouring Zamfara State.
