Live updates:INEC announces results of Ondo governorship poll

Ondo state went to the polls earlier on Saturday to elect a governor, with the incumbent, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and his closest challenger, Agboola Ajayi, being the favourites. There were 16 other candidates on the ballot.

The Independent National Electoral Commission is set to announce the official results from all the 18 local governments of the state. Already, about 98% of the results have been uploaded on the iReV portal as of 11 pm on Saturday.

The announcement of results from the remaining three local governments has been postponed to 12 pm.

INEC is set to resume collating results from the remaining three local governments—Ilaje, Ese Odo, and Odigbo—after a more than seven-hour break. The collation officer for Ese Odo has yet to arrive at the INEC state office at 12:35 pm.
