The Managing Director of ValueJet, Omololu Majekodunmi, said the commencement of its Lagos-Accra route is necessary to the airline’s goal of facilitating seamless and affordable connectivity along the West African coast.
Speaking on Monday in Lagos at the inaugural flight to the former Gold Coast country, slated for March 30, Majekodunmi said the flight was a significant step for ValueJet as it grows its network beyond Nigeria and across the African continent.
“We are thrilled to commence our regional service with the inaugural flight between Lagos and Accra slated for March 30th, 2026. This is a significant step for ValueJet as we expand our network beyond Nigeria and across the African continent.
“With this new route, we aim to enhance connectivity between Nigeria and Ghana, fostering tourism, trade, and tighter economic and cultural ties. ValueJet remains committed to delivering exceptional services to our passengers, and we invite travellers between Nigeria and Ghana to choose ValueJet and experience the best of our service offering,” he said.
Majekodunmi expressed hope that the Accra-Lagos-Accra service would make seamless connections between Nigeria and Ghana an exciting possibility, as well as boost the economy of the two countries.
He said the airline was proud to play a part in bridging distances and fostering closer economic ties between the people and businesses of Nigeria, Ghana and beyond, while also opening new opportunities for trade and tourism.
According to him, flights would depart from the new terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, daily at 8 a.m., with return flights from Accra to Lagos scheduled for 9 a.m.
T
he expansion follows the successful launch of its first international service to Banjul, The Gambia and includes additional regional hubs such as Cotonou and Malabo.
