Ayeni emerges NASCON Chairman

The National Salt Company of Nigeria (NASCON) Allied Industries Plc has appointed Mrs Yemisi Ayeni, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Lagos by Mr Adedayo Samuel, the Company Secretary.
According to the statement, Mr Paul Farrer was appointed the Managing Director while Mr Olakunle Alake, Halima Aliko-Dangote, Knut Ulvmoen, Sada Ladan-Baki, and Abdu Dantata were appointed as Directors.

The statement said that the incumbent Chairman of Diamond Bank, Dr Chris Ogbechie, and Mrs Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman were also appointed to the board as non-executive directors.

It stated that the new appointments were made at the company’s board meeting held on Dec. 15, following the resignations of former Directors – Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Sani Dangote and Suleiman Olarinde.

Ayeni, according to the statement, was formerly the Finance Director, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Ltd, (SNEPCo) and is presently a Council Member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

She started her career as an Audit Assistant with Price Waterhouse London, before she joined Price Waterhouse Lagos.

Ogbechie, on the other hand, holds a First Class degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester and MBA from Manchester Business School, England and a PhD from Brunel University, England.

Wali-Abdurrahman has a BA in Architecture and Urban Studies, from the University of Minnesota, United States, and an MSc in Economics and Management of Construction, from the University College London, United Kingdom.

She is the current Chief Executive Officer, Filmo Group of Companies, a key player in the Nigerian real estate sector and former member of the Lagos State University Governing Council. (
