Taxaide Technologies Limited (Taxtech), has announced that it has secured official licensing from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) as one of the accredited service providers under Nigeria’s newly introduced National E-Invoicing Regime.
The approval authorises Taxtech to operate as a trusted System Integrator and Access Point Provider (APP) for the FIRS e-Invoicing platform, also known as the Merchant Buyer Solution (MBS).
The platform is designed to modernise tax administration, promote transparency, and curb revenue leakages by ensuring that qualifying transactions are processed electronically in real time.
In a chat with The Guardian, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Bidemi Olumide, described the licence as a significant milestone for the company and for Nigeria’s ongoing digital tax transformation.
“We are honored to be among the select technology firms licensed by the FIRS for this groundbreaking e-Invoicing project. At Taxtech, our mission has always been to simplify and transform tax processes through technology. We are fully prepared to support taxpayers in aligning with the new regime and ensuring seamless, efficient, and transparent operations.”
Under the e-Invoicing regime, Taxtech will provide onboarding support, systems integration, compliance monitoring, and advisory services to VAT-registered taxpayers—beginning with large businesses with annual turnovers of N5 billion and above.
The company noted that as the November 1, 2025 onboarding deadline approaches, it is ready to assist businesses in meeting compliance requirements and achieving smooth integration with the FIRS system.
The Federal Inland Revenue Service recently unveiled 16 tech companies as service providers to support taxpayers in onboarding its e-invoicing platform.
The tech companies, which function as system integrators and access point providers as certified by the National Information Technology Development Agency, were unveiled at a two-day workshop in Lagos to support onboarding, system integration, and invoice transmission processes for taxpayers.
According to the FIRS, the National E-Invoicing Solution (Merchant-Buyer Model) is a digital representation of transactions between suppliers and buyers, effectively replacing traditional paper or electronic documents such as invoices, credit notes and debit notes.
This eInvoice includes all essential transaction details like supplier and buyer information, item descriptions, quantities, prices, tax, and total amounts. Designed to facilitate real-time or near-real-time validation and storage of transactions.
Unveiling the service providers, the Acting Director of Tax Automation at FIRS, Mike Adoga, said that taxpayers were free to switch providers.
In his opening remarks, Chief of Staff to FIRS Executive Chairman, Mr. Tayo Koleosho, said over 1,000 companies have been onboarded since the e-invoicing platform went live on August 1, 2025.
He, however, noted that this represents only 20% of the target taxpayers, as over 5,000 companies are expected to be onboarded.
