Honeywell unfolds plan for new fuel retail stations
NIGERIA Honeywell Oil & Gas Limited has unveiled plans to build mega-fuel stations to meet the growing need for retailing of petroleum products in the country.
The company, which has just introduced its full synthetic engine oil, Honeywell Synlube 5W-40, is expected to roll out two mega stations every year for the next five years.
The filling stations, would also enable the company to sell its synlube 5W-40 to the loyal consumers.
The product, according to the company, has been developed for all modern turbocharged, high output gasoline and diesel engines of passenger cars, SUVs, light vans and trucks.
Honeywell Synlube 5W-40 is designed to deliver extended drain interval whilst adequately protecting the vehicle engine. It minimises deposits in the engine and turbo charger thereby ensuring that the engine produces its rated power and torque.
The Chairman Honeywell Group, Dr Oba Otudeko, represented by Dr Teddy Ngu, Honeywell Group’s Head Corporate Development & Investment said Honeywell Oil & Gas started out in the late 1990s as Esso’s licensee producing, marketing and distributing lubricants using Esso’s licence.
“However after the acquisition of Esso by Mobil (now ExxonMobil), it became imperative that the relationship with our esteemed industrial and retail clientele hitherto established with the Esso brand moved a step further”, he explained.
Ngu said Honeywell then set up its state-of-the-art lubricant blending plant in Lagos and has from then been blending with recipes that conform to international standards and best practice-turning out thousands of tons of premium grade lubricants into the Nigerian and West African markets.
“This product, the Honeywell Synlube 5W-40 which is of the API SN/CF category is a full synthetic premium engine oil designed for ultimate engine performance, formulated from the finest quality synthetic base stocks and an excellent blend of chemical additives. The product keeps your vehicle engine running like new, delivers extended oil drain interval (up to 15,000 kilometers), reduces deposit formation and gives considerable savings (up to 5% reduction) on fuel”, he explained.
Also, Managing Director Honeywell Oil and Gas Mr Sikiru Rufai maintained that the API grade of Honeywell Synlube 5W-40 is the highest in the market for the Spark (Petrol) category.
The Chief Operating Officer Honeywell Oil and Gas Mr Tokunbo Amosu said this is in line with the Automotive policy of government which encourages the local production of automobiles whic would need premium grade lubricants. He also said that with the preference of most Nigerians for Year 2008 and newer vehicles, there could not be a better time to introduce this product into the Nigerian market.
