CIPM seeks FG’s collaboration on human capital development

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) has sought collaboration with the Federal Government to strengthen the nation’s human capital development.

President of CIPM, Segun Mojeed, alongside executive members of the institute, made the appeal during a visit to the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in Abuja.

He said such collaboration had become imperative, considering the fact that a nation’s priciest possession was its population.

He noted that human capital and such critical endowment must be deliberately nurtured and well trained to help the population make their optimum contribution to national development.

Adesina commended the team and acknowledged that human capital development was dear to the heart of President Buhari.

He stated that the president recently underscored its importance at the just-concluded mid-term ministerial retreat.

He expressed commitment that the Federal Government was ready to partner with the institute on human capital development.

Vice President, CIPM, Henry Unuakpor, said human capital development, through corporate training, was a great catalyst in developing leaders with high levels of efficiency and productivity.

In addition to aiding employee satisfaction and retention, he added that it also helps in the speedy realisation of corporate objectives.

During the visit, the group invited Adesina to the CIPM international conference scheduled to hold in Abuja from November 24 to 26, 2021.
