Coronation Group deepens ESG commitment with sustainability week initiative

Coronation Group has reaffirmed its dedication to sustainability and responsible business practices with the successful conclusion of its second yearly Brand and Sustainability Week.

The five-day initiative, held from September 22 to 26, 2025, brought together employees across the Group’s four business segments—insurance, asset management, banking, and technology—to engage in a series of activities focused on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

This collaborative programme highlighted Coronation’s broader mission to offer transformational solutions that tackle Africa’s most pressing challengesAfrica’s most pressing challenges by embedding sustainability at the heart of its operations.

According to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Coronation Group, Ngozi Akinyele, the initiative goes beyond generating financial returns to encompass the Group’s environmental footprint, social contributions, and governance practices. She emphasised that true prosperity requires accountability and long-term thinking that ensures no compromises are made to the future being built.

Following the success of its inaugural edition in October 2024, this year’s Brand and Sustainability Week expanded its impact through educational forums, hands-on workshops, and initiatives that translated awareness into concrete action. The programme functioned both as a reflection of Coronation’s core values and as a strategic driver toward deeper integration of ESG principles across the Group’s operations.

A standout feature of this year’s activities was Coronation’s continued partnership with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) through the Green Recovery Nigeria Project. As a platinum partner, the Group has pledged to plant 600 trees nationwide, beginning with an inaugural tree-planting event at the Lekki Conservation Centre.
