Courier Operators Urge Public Hearing On Postal Bill
THE Association of Nigeria Courier Operators (ANCO), called on the National Assembly (NASS) to make the Postal Commission bill public for stakeholders input before passage.
The President of ANCO, Mr. Siyanbola Oladapo told newsmen yesterday that feelers from the NASS suggest the existence of many versions of the Bill.
According to the ANCO boss, the bill could be made public through public hearing, adding that new versions have emerged from the original eight-year-old draft bill. “We plead with the Senate to heed our plea that it makes public the bill, to enable stakeholders and operators have a glimpse of the content and if need be allow us to ask questions and make last minute contributions before its final passage.”
Continuing, he said, “Even NIPOST, the regulator of the courier industry said last week, when we visited Abuja, it is unaware of the content.”
