Naomi Nwaokocha, a business executive and agribusiness investor, has expressed a desire to see Nigerian agricultural products on the global stage, especially pig farming and palm oil products.
Nwaokocha, who currently serves as the Director of Corporate Operations at Supreme Meat Ventures Ltd, a leading pig farming enterprise, is also the Chief Executive Officer of Poder Farms Ltd, a palm oil production company.
She explained that her entry into agriculture in 2020, after an investment in pig farming, revealed the industry’s potential to generate wealth and long-term impact.
“I’ve always been business-oriented from a very young age,” she said, recalling how her entrepreneurial spirit began in secondary school and expanded during her time at the University of Lagos. “That drive to create value and solve problems led me to agriculture, where I saw vast opportunities for impact and sustainability.”
She noted that her ventures have since recorded significant growth, generating billions in sales, attracting funding, and creating jobs, while also proving that agribusiness can be both profitable and sustainable.
Despite her success, Nwaokocha highlighted challenges, including gender bias and stereotypes. According to her, investing in personal development and resilience helped her overcome barriers.
She said Supreme Meat Ventures plans to expand structured pig farming across Nigeria, complete its processing facility, and scale into exports. Poder Farms, she added, is on track to become a globally recognized palm oil brand offering innovative by-products to maximize value and minimize waste.
