HitchPay, a financial technology company, has taken its digital payment advocacy to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Iseyin, Oyo state, engaging thousands of corps members in financial literacy, digital inclusion and career development.
The company used its presence at the Batch C orientation camp to introduce young graduates to seamless digital payments and technology-driven career opportunities, as part of a broader effort to deepen financial access among youths posted to different parts of the country.
Through hands-on demonstrations, HitchPay’s team guided corps members on how to activate the app, make transfers, confirm payments in real time and carry out transactions with ease, especially in locations where access to banks is limited.
The company’s Chief Operating Officer, Eunice Bankole, said, “We are bridging the gap for corps members heading to underserved communities without banks. Our platform makes payments seamless, affordable and easy to use. It is our way of ensuring young people can access their money without stress as they serve the nation.”
Beyond payments, the company also introduced a digital career fair aimed at exposing corps members to opportunities in software engineering, product design, management, customer success and marketing.
According to Bankole, the initiative is designed to help young Nigerians transition from school into the fast-growing technology space.
“This aligns with our vision to move young talents from campus into cutting-edge digital careers,” she said, noting that the outreach in Oyo State would be replicated in other NYSC camps across the country.
HitchPay also sponsored key camp activities, including the Miss Big, Bold and Beautiful pageant and the cultural carnival, where corps members were further engaged on the use of digital payment tools such as virtual dollar cards, cross-border transfers and currency exchange services.
The events featured live demonstrations, raffles, branded souvenirs and instant app sign-ups, drawing wide participation from corps members.
HitchPay’s Marketing Director, Prisca Onyemaeme, said the engagement reflects the company’s commitment to youth development and national growth.
“This partnership channels the energy of young people towards nation-building. We are committed to providing easy and secure global payment solutions, starting with corps members who represent the future of the country,” Onyemaeme said.
Several corps members described the experience as eye-opening, noting that the sessions introduced them to digital tools and career paths they had not previously considered. Many said the platform offered practical solutions for managing money and accessing opportunities in the digital economy.
