Firm charges youth on good leadership skills

The Managing Director of Illeviaoje Hotel and Suites, Daniel Ojeaburu, has charged youths to reposition their minds from social vices and re-engineer their psyche towards becoming good citizens, who will take over the leadership of the country.

Ojeaburu said the management of the outfit, located in Ijegun, Alimosho area of Lagos State, was seriously perturbed over the spate of cultism and other social ills that youths are engaged, which shifted their focus from legitimate pursuits.

He decried the spate of illicit drug peddling and consumption amongst people, saying that such unlawful acts push youths to take to crime and social violence.

To reinforce the commitment of the hospitality sector of the economy to the welfare of Nigerians, the firm conducted a seminar for over 600 youths to sensitise them on the dangerous effects of cultism, drugs abuse and other social vices on their lifestyle and future.v

He said: “It is unfortunate to hear that local youths have now resorted to evil practices such as cultism, kidnapping, drug abuse and sundry crimes. We hear all sorts of negative things about them nowadays. I t was terribly sad when we heard the news of cult killings at a school in our vicinity.”

Also speaking, a manager of the company, Taofikat Abidemi said that Illeviaoje aimed to set standard in the area in terms of facilities, security, and qualified personnel to boost the hospitality business. Abidemi used the occasion to appreciate the police, particularly the men and officers of Isheri Oshun division for their cooperation, gallantry and rapid responses in matters of security, especially in putting an end to the menace of scavengers who constitute nuisance to the community.
