The current reforms in the underwriting sector of the country, have been assessed as creating more need for operators to be technologically aware, to meet up with the demand of the digital era and insurance business.

The observation was made at a workshop organized by Nihilent Nigeria, in association with the Nigeria Insurance Association (NIA), in Lagos.

The Chairman of Nihilent Nigeria, Oti Ikomi, who commended NIA for its support in the knowledge sharing initiative, said that his company, in the past 15 years, has been driving change management, using digital and Information Technologies in emerging markets like South Africa, Tanzania, India and Nigeria.

According to him, the Lagos-based business consulting and solutions integration company, and subsidiary of India’s Nihilent Technologies, has helped financial services and insurance companies, among others, dramatically improve their service delivery and make a significant difference to the entire value chain.

“The insurance industry in Nigeria is going through a paradigm shift in this digital era, and we realized the need for a comprehensive seminar on these lines,” he said.
