Held on November 28, 2024, the hybrid event themed, “She Transcends: Spurring Women to Build Enduring Businesses and Careers,” convened a vibrant mix of leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals both physically at the Wheatbaker Hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos, and virtually.

Delivering the keynote address, renowned entrepreneur and leadership expert, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, emphasised the critical role of women in national development.

Awosika remarked stated that any nation that does not invest in nurturing the gifts and talents of its women population is losing so much and will never reach its full potential.

She shared her personal entrepreneurial journey, encouraging women to pursue self-awareness, define their purpose, and make informed, goal-oriented decisions.

“Don’t follow general opinion to make your decisions. Look at your own goals, determine your end game, and take steps that align with your vision,” she advised.

An engaging panel session followed, featuring seasoned professionals, industry leaders and experts who shared valuable insights on building sustainable businesses and achieving personal growth.

A Psychotherapist and Convener of The Mental Health Conference, Dr. Maymunah Kadiri, highlighted the importance of maintaining mental well-being as a cornerstone of success, urging attendees to balance their personal and professional lives.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of FSDH Asset Management, Mr. Toyin Owolabi, offered practical strategies on wealth management, equipping participants with tools for financial stability and growth.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Gender Business Desk at the Bank of Industry, Adebola Oruma, spotlighted funding opportunities and resources available to women entrepreneurs, encouraging them to leverage these tailored supports.

Key discussions addressed topics such as managing business growth, achieving regulatory compliance, and sustaining mental and financial health.

Attendees left the summit with actionable strategies to build enduring businesses and achieve personal fulfilment.

The summit exemplified FSDH Merchant Bank’s commitment to fostering female entrepreneurship and professional excellence through platforms like WIBI.

It created opportunities for networking, collaboration, and learning, inspiring women to overcome limitations and establish lasting legacies in business and beyond.
