Mantrac Nigeria, the sole authorised dealer for Caterpillar equipment in the country, has launched a new digital service centre in Lagos, a facility designed to remotely monitor, diagnose and support heavy-duty equipment used across multiple sectors, including mining, construction, oil and gas, and agriculture.
Located in Ikeja, the centre marks a major step in Mantrac’s digital transformation agenda, offering real-time diagnostics and technical support for more than 200 active customer sites nationwide. It is equipped with advanced telematics, high-speed connectivity and staffed by certified engineers who provide virtual troubleshooting and predictive maintenance services to reduce downtime and operational costs.
Speaking during a media roundtable and facility tour held yesterday to mark the launch, the Managing Director of Mantrac Nigeria, Emad Adeeb, described the initiative as a key milestone in modernising after-sales service delivery.
He said, “This facility reflects our long-term vision to redefine after-sales service in the market. By combining Caterpillar’s world-class technology with local expertise, we are ensuring customers get immediate, intelligent support, no matter where they are. This is about empowering productivity and building stronger partnerships.”
The Chief Operating Officer of Mantrac Group, Nigel Lewis, said the project represents an important shift in how industrial equipment is supported across West Africa.
“The launch of this centre is a major milestone not just for Nigeria but for our entire Group. It is an example of how we are harnessing digital solutions to improve customer outcomes, enhance operational safety, and create a sustainable service model that will shape the future of our industry,” he said.
Caterpillar’s Director of Distribution for Eastern Africa, Stephane Latini, also noted the significance of the investment, describing it as part of a global transformation in how Caterpillar’s technology supports customers. “Digital service solutions are transforming how we support our customers globally, and this new centre ensures that Nigerian and West African businesses can maximise equipment performance, productivity, and uptime with the latest Caterpillar technology,” Latini said.
